Refit in Spain without the 21% VAT.
Inward Processing — TPA in Spain is the EU fiscal regime that lets a vessel under Temporary Admission, with a non-EU owner and a non-EU flag, undergo repairs and maintenance without paying the 21% VAT on the works.
Under TPA she can also receive goods and spare parts from EU and non-EU countries for incorporation on board without paying duties or VAT. And while the works run, the 18-month Temporary Admission clock is suspended.
Lantimar Yachting and Lantimar Logistics & Customs are authorised to manage refits under the TPA regime in Spain. We open the file, handle the Annex 71 documentation, follow her through the yard and close the regime when she leaves.

Do I need a customs agent in Spain for a superyacht?
Every arrival from outside the EU, every change of customs regime and every refit under a suspensive regime generates paperwork with the Spanish customs authority. A customs agent in Spain files those declarations on the vessel’s behalf and keeps her documentation consistent across ports. At Lantimar, agency and customs are two departments of the same group, both Authorised Economic Operators.
What is Temporary Admission in Spain?
Temporary Admission is the EU customs regime that lets a non-EU flagged and non-EU owned pleasure vessel stay in EU waters without paying import VAT, normally for up to 18 months. The clock starts when she enters EU customs territory. We advise on eligibility and file the declarations at each Spanish port of call.
What is Annex 71 and when is it needed?
Annex 71 refers to the customs annex governing special procedures, including the authorisation used for inward processing. In practice it is the documentation that allows works to be carried out on a vessel under a suspensive regime. It is distinct from movements in and out of a TPA context, and each case needs to be assessed on its own facts before works begin.
How does TPA / inward processing work for a yacht refit in Palma or Barcelona?
Under Inward Processing — TPA in Spain — a vessel under Temporary Admission can undergo repairs, maintenance and refit without paying the 21% VAT on the works, and can receive goods and spare parts from EU and non-EU countries for incorporation on board without duties or VAT. Placing her under TPA also suspends the 18-month Temporary Admission clock for the duration of the works. Lantimar is authorised to manage refits under the TPA regime in Spain.
