Mercy Ships visits Lantimar: Building Bridges Between the Yachting World and Humanitarian Action
At Lantimar Group, we had the privilege of welcoming Gerardo Vangioni, CEO of Mercy Ships, to our offices in Palma de Mallorca.
His visit gave us the opportunity to learn firsthand about the work of this international organization, which operates a fleet of hospital ships dedicated to providing free surgical care and medical training in regions where access to healthcare is limited or nonexistent.
With a new vessel currently under construction, Mercy Ships continues to expand its reach—bringing hope and specialized care to communities in urgent need.
The yachting industry as a space for purpose
At Lantimar, we’ve spent years supporting crew members and professionals across the yachting industry throughout their journeys around the world. We know that behind every technical profile is a person with values, curiosity, and a desire to contribute. Many of them, between seasons, seek experiences that connect them to something greater than the next destination.
Mercy Ships offers exactly that opportunity: to put maritime, technical, or human expertise in service of others. Whether you’re a healthcare worker, engineer, chef, or deckhand, your experience can make a real difference in an environment where every gesture counts.
Being a bridge, being a catalyst as a maritime service company, Lantimar believes in the power of connection. That’s why we feel deeply committed to initiatives like Mercy Ships—reminding us that the sea can also be a path toward solidarity.
We’ll continue exploring ways to bring these opportunities closer to the yachting community, because when experience meets empathy, the impact is truly transformative. Learn more about Mercy Ships
